How to use TorVPN?

This is a step-by-step guide to help you start using TorVPN on Windows. You can use TorVPN on other operating systems too! Macintosh, Linux, Android, iPhone and almost everything else is supported as well. If you are not trying to set it up on Windows, please refer to the external tutorials at the bottom of this page.

Setting up TorVPN with OpenVPN (this is the better way):

Step 1> Sign up

The signup form is here: http://torvpn.com/signup.html.
All you need to do is choose a username, a password, enter your e-mail address. No questions asked.
You get a verification e-mail in seconds. Click the verification link, and you're logged in!

Step 2> Install OpenVPN

Just download the OpenVPN installer, run it and click 'Next' until it is installed. After it is installed, do not run it yet. First you will need to download your TorVPN configuration file.

Step 3> Download your TorVPN config

Download your TorVPN settings in a ZIP file from the VPN control panel.
Extract it to your C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config directory.

Step 4> Connect!

Start OpenVPN with administrator privileges.
Find the OpenVPN icon in the system tray and right click it.
Select Connect->torvpn, and enter your username and password when prompted.
Congratulations, you're now logged in to TorVPN. Verify this by checking your ip address.
